2007 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival

Multimedia experience featuring the best of contemporary bands, plus art exhibits, vendor booths, food and dancing. The alternative European-Rock-style festival draws more than 55,000 fans and Rolling Stone’s endorsement as “The best American rock festival” and England’s NME’s enthusiastic nod as “probably the best festival in the world!” Fans from all over Europe and America come for this blast in the desert.

Among the featured 2006 bands were - Sat: Coldplay, Bauhaus, Weezer, Cocteau Twins, The Chemical Brothers, Wilco, Keane, Snow Patrol, Boom Bip and Radio 4. Sun: Nine Inch Nails, The Dresden Dolls, Miss Kittin, The Fiery Furnaces, The Preceptioniests, Sixtoo, Tegan and Sara, Matthew Dear, many more. *** Bands for 2007 TO BE ANNOUNCED ***

The INDIO YOUTH TASK FORCE is a commitment to the youth of the Indio community.

They pledge to work toward establishing a community of productive & responsible young people. In order to accomplish this goal, they are dedicated to total community collaboration and involvement in order to create /maintain positive opportunities & direction for and with the Indio youth.

They have a Boys & Girls Club & Boxing Club seven years in the making.

They have monthly teen and youth dances at the Coachella Valley Recreation & Parks District where 200 plus kids attend each dance.

They currently have four Kids Club in City Apartments Complexes with two more to open soon in Indio.

They also have the COPS VS KIDS Annual Basketball Game.

One of their recent donations was for $5,000 towards the first City Skate Park.
